The Figment of Our Consciousness:
The Ultimate Theory of Our Existence
By Emmanuel Ajayi

The Official Book Synopsis
For centuries, our understanding of existence has been shaped by a persistent philosophical divide: traditional theology, which invokes divine creation to explain the origins of reality, and secular scientific materialism, which seeks to account for the cosmos through physical processes, chance, and natural law. Despite their differences, both frameworks leave a deeper question unresolved: why does existence itself obtain, and must it have an ultimate beginning?
In The Figment of Our Consciousness: The Ultimate Theory of Our Existence, mathematical scientist and educator Emmanuel Ajayi challenges this conventional divide through a rigorous examination of cosmic origins, the nature of time, consciousness, and human agency. Introducing Panpsychophysical Theory (Panpsychophysics) and the Neutral Cosmological Principle, Ajayi develops an original framework for reconsidering the fundamental assumptions underlying our understanding of reality.
Across five chapters, the book examines the possibility that what we experience as the linear passage of time does not reflect the underlying structure of existence. Drawing on questions at the intersection of physics, philosophy, and metaphysics, Ajayi advances a block-universe interpretation in which the past, present, and future coexist within a single, four-dimensional structure. Within this framework, temporal passage is reconsidered as an aspect of conscious experience, with consciousness occupying a fundamental role in how reality is perceived and traversed.
Combining cosmological inquiry with philosophical analysis, The Figment of Our Consciousness invites readers to reconsider familiar assumptions about beginnings, causality, time, and free will. It is written for readers of philosophy of science, cosmology, and metaphysics, as well as independent researchers interested in the unresolved questions at the foundations of existence.
